Samsung Biologics signed a USD 262 million manufacturing agreement with a European pharmaceutical company, with manufacturing commitments extending through 2033. The agreement was disclosed in accordance with Korean market disclosure requirements. The client's name and product-specific details will remain confidential under the terms of the agreement.

Production under the agreement will take place at Samsung Biologics' Songdo manufacturing site in South Korea. Following the latest agreement, Samsung Biologics' cumulative contract value surpasses USD 21.9 billion.

Business momentum and long-term growth

The latest agreement comes as Samsung Biologics continues to secure long-term client commitments, with available manufacturing capacity being filled quickly as the company advances its growth strategy across capacity, portfolio, and geographic expansion.

Expanding the global network and capacity

Samsung Biologics operates 845,000 liters of manufacturing capacity across Korea and the US, comprising 785,000 liters in Songdo and 60,000 liters at its Rockville, Maryland site. The Rockville site, acquired in March 2026, established Samsung Biologics' first US manufacturing presence, further diversifying the company's global manufacturing network.

The company has built a regional support network with offices in New Jersey, Boston, Tokyo, and Amsterdam, providing closer proximity to clients across the US, Europe, and Japan.

Samsung Biologics has also secured land for Bio Campus III, laying the foundation for its next phase of long-term capacity and capability expansion, with plans to support dedicated research and development (R&D) and manufacturing programs for next-generation therapeutics. The company continues to evaluate future capacity investments in line with long-term market demand and evolving client needs.

Broadening the portfolio

Samsung Biologics has announced an all-cash offer to acquire PolyPeptide Group, with the proposed acquisition expected to expand its capabilities into peptide-based therapeutics and further diversify its global network. The proposed acquisition represents a key step in broadening Samsung Biologics' portfolio beyond its established biologics capabilities to address a wider range of modalities and client needs.

Samsung Biologics continues to expand its capabilities across monoclonal antibodies, bioconjugation, mRNA, organoid-based services, and next-generation development platforms, supporting increasingly diverse client pipelines.

Investing behind the long-term growth strategy

Samsung Biologics announced a KRW 3 trillion rights offering in August 2026 to support strategic investments across its long-term growth strategy of capacity, portfolio, and geographic expansion. Approximately KRW 2.71 trillion is planned for the proposed PolyPeptide Group acquisition, with approximately KRW 290 billion designated for the expansion of Bio Campus II.
