Science Milestone: Ultra-sensitive protein detection

Seventy years of scientific advancements led to a 10,000-fold improvement in protein detection sensitivity and the possibility of early disease diagnosis.

Protein detection technology has evolved significantly, from radioimmunoassays and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays to methods with heightened sensitivity and multiplexing capabilities. Although these assays improved upon previous methods by detecting lowly expressed proteins, high assay background leading to false positives and inaccurate protein quantification remained a concern.

Download this milestone article from Alamar Biosciences to learn about the key advancements that enabled ultra-sensitive protein detection with reduced background signal, high specificity, and multiplexing capability.
