Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are ubiquitous synthetic chemicals present in many everyday products, from nonstick coatings on cookware to contaminants in drinking water. Known as forever chemicals, PFAS can accumulate in the environment and human body over time. Emerging research has established a concerning link between PFAS exposure and various adverse health effects, including endocrine disruption that impacts cardiovascular and reproductive systems in women. In this webinar, Alicia Arredondo Eve will discuss the connection between environmental PFAS exposure and heart disease risk in postmenopausal women.
Topics to be covered
- The impact of PFAS exposure on cardiovascular disease risk in postmenopausal women
- Potential mechanisms underlying PFAS-induced cardiovascular disease
