GLASGOW, Scotland—Aridhia Informatics Ltd., amultidisciplinary health informatics company, recently partnered with GlencoeSoftware to create products to aid the development of personalized therapiesand deliver improved patient outcomes.
 
The partnership brings together Aridhia's capabilities in accessing,storing and analyzing healthcare information with Glencoe's expertise inmanaging, sharing and publishing large scientific datasets generated inlaboratories around the world.
 
Anticipating an increased focus on stratified medicine incoming years, the two companies will work together to create products for theinternational healthcare, life and biomedical science markets using real-worldclinical, genetic and research information.
 
As part of the agreement, Aridhia will make a majorinvestment in Seattle-based Glencoe to further accelerate its already rapidgrowth in these areas.
 
 
"Dundee is a great place for life sciences companies such asAridhia and Glencoe to do business," said Prof. Peter Downes, principal of theuniversity, in a statement. "Their collaboration here will create jobs andfurther strengthen our innovation economy. It is good news for Dundee and goodnews for Scotland." 
 
Aridhia Informatics is a joint venture between theUniversity of Dundee, NHS Tayside and Sumerian IT Analytics. Aridhia provides acombination of clinical expertise, academic excellence and high-performancecomputing experience to generate real-time information services that improvethe safety, quality and efficiency of healthcare.
 
Glencoe Software has developed technology platforms that arebased on open-source software built by the Open Microscopy Environment. Foundedin 2000, OME builds and releases software tools for the analysis of very largescientific image datasets. Its tools are used globally throughout the academicand commercial communities.
