July 2009
SHARING OPTIONS:

DOHA, Qatar—Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) has launched a joint venture with deltaDOT, a developer of technologies for the separation and analysis of biomolecules based in London, to develop a world-class proteomics research and testing facility in Qatar. The Proteomics Service Laboratory is expected to open officially later this year and will provide training and work opportunities for young Qatari scientists. The facility's contract research and development services will initially be offered to key stakeholders in Qatar and later globally. Initial projects will include biomarker studies for breast and colorectal cancer and the metallic content of proteins. QSTP will contribute $15 million towards the partnership, while deltaDOT will provide staff, support and an exclusive regional license to its technology.
